4-year-old girl missing since 2019 found alive, hidden under stairs in New York, police say
Missing a teenage girl
A teenage girl who has been missing in the United States since 2019 has been rescued from a secret room under the stairs of a house.
According to British media, 6-year-old Paisley Schultz was
found during a search of a house in Sagartiz area of New York, USA.
Police say the girl is completely healthy and has been
handed over to her legal guardian and elder sister.
According to police, Paisley Schultz went missing in the New
York area of Taiga in July 2019, when police officials suspected that a
4-year-old girl had been abducted by her parents, following a court order to
properly care for her. The girl's guardianship was lost due to failure to
implement.
According to the report, on the information of the presence
of the girl, the police raided the house and recovered the girl during the
search. According to police, the 57-year-old landlord is the grandfather of the
girl who continued to express ignorance about her till her recovery.
Police arrested the girl's parents and grandfather, later
released the father and grandfather on bail, however, the girl's mother is
still in custody, further investigation into the abduction is underway.
Police officials have also expressed concern that the girl's
real parents were involved in the abduction, who were unhappy that their eldest
daughter was not getting legal protection from her younger sister.
